Thousands demonstrators to Capitol today marched carrying roses, crosses and signage, annual rally against abortion in the State of Washington.
In its 33rd year the March for life rally is planned to coincide with the anniversary of the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in the United States.
"World we go tomorrow to go to a pre-Roe v. Wade, but what we can do is start taking it back," Noreen McEntee Hobson, President who Washington State March for life, said to the crowd, which filled the steps of the Legislative building.
Fourteen anti-abortion lawmakers spoke at the rally, with three announced that you plan to file anti abortion legislation this session:
Rep. Matt Shea, R-Spokane Valley, seeks a bill that would require parental notification before an abortion procedure for persons under 18 signatories. Rep. John Ahern, R Spokane, plans a Bill file which would define in State law, the life at conception begins. Across from the mass of the March for life, a group of more than 10 per-choice advocates stand on the stairs of the Temple of Justice, sporting colourful characters like ' keep your laws from my body. "
The most high school aged group there are for "the importance of women's physical control of your body and your life," said Phoebe Blanding, 17, Olympia, who has protested supporters rally March for life as abortion rights, since she was 11.
"We think, it's really important that people can choose what is right for you and it is trusted to the decision for themselves, are" she said.
